Our Story

Naia Bathhouse was born from a wish - that Castlemaine have a dedicated space to find stillness in the rhythm of modern life. We couldn’t find it here, so we decided to create it ourselves. 

We are Lou and Lilly, a local Castlemaine couple who have spent the past three years making this wish into a reality. 

Our inspiration for Naia comes from our love of bathhouses, Japanese onsens, and immersion therapy. These are places we’ve turned to for their stillness and their ability to provide us relaxation and restoration in our often busy lives. We really believe in the power of these spaces, not only as a form of self-care but also as a way to share quiet moments with others in an intentional way. 

With a background in carpentry and design, Lou is handcrafting the bathhouse fit-out, shaping every detail with the same care and intention we hope you'll feel the moment you walk through the door.

Naia will be a space where everyone is welcome, just as they are. A place to let go of the rush, take some time for yourself or reconnect with others. For both the community and visitors, we hope it's an experience and space that will leave you feeling deeply restored.
